Formation at St. James

Adult Formation
Adults are meeting on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. at Francie Hills' home for Bible study. They are working with the following Sunday's lessons, using the Dwelling in the Word process. All are welcome. For more information, contact rector@stjamesgb.org.
Children's Formation Classes
Classes are Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Upstairs at Crissey Farm. We meet from September to June with no Church School on holidays or holiday weekends.
This summer and fall the children and youth of the parish and wider community have planted, tended and harvested amazing quantities of vegetables and flowers at "Gideon's Garden." This is a 1/3-acre plot that Taft Farms generously lets us use. The vegetables, and the youth, help feed people at the Breaking Bread Kitchen, Stockbridge Open Table, and the Peoples' Pantry. Watch for more activities at the farm this fall. Contact Pennie Curry 413 429.7093.
Church School for children 2-7 years old: We are using the “Let the Children Come” curriculum from Living the Good News. The classes consist of free play, a Bible story (told using props), and a short worship service with a snack (communion). Then there is a chance to process the Bible story through art or playing with the story character props. The first quarter is “Meet God’s First Friends,” the Old Testament stories. The second quarter is “Happy Birthday, Jesus!” and covers the Advent and Christmas stories. The third quarter is “Jesus is a Friend of Mine” and includes stories about Jesus’ life. We have lots of fun and would love to have more friends join us!
Church School for Primary Students is developed by Episcopalians for Episcopalians. It builds on natural curiosity through experiential activities that bring Biblical characters and church history to life.
